Explore the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It is indeed the flagship tourism attraction of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area measuring an area of 260sq km and extending about 20km in diameter. The crater is actually a huge caldera of a volcano that collapsed to a depth of 610m about three million years ago. Over the course of time, streams of water made their way down the crater to form little ponds.

  1. DAY 1: ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

    You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha town; you will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming safari. All the basic information about your safari will be given to you by safari guide.

  2. DAY 2: ARUSHA TO NGORONGORO CRATER

    Pick up at 5 am from your hotel and drive to Ngorongoro crater with your packed breakfast. The drive takes 4 hours. This stunning place will offer you almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino and if we are lucky, we might spot one. Measuring an area of 260 Kilometers square and extending about 20km in diameter, we will need probably 5 to 6 hours to explore it.

    You will enjoy your hot lunch at the Ngoitoktok Picnic area, which has a hippo pool.

    After the game drive you drive to Kararu where you will have dinner and overnight.
